Our harps are so much more than a piece of wood with strings. Each of our harps is unique and has its own personality, a persona really. Our harps have names and the photos below will reveal the embellishments and mechanics of each. All reflect the inspiration of the Holy Spirit that has brought us together.

Song of My Heart
Sweet wren, lay your joyous notes on the wind so that they can be carried from your trilling heart to my weighted one. Sweet Ariel, rest your string sounds on my shoulder so that my heart will sing true with the wren’s song. |

Psalms 150:3-6 KJV Praise him with the sound of the trumpet: praise him with the psaltry and harp. Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs. Praise him upon the loud cymbals: praise him upon the high sounding cymbals. Let every thing that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord. |
Psalm 81:2 Take a psalm, and bring hither the timbrel, the pleasant harp with the psaltery. Psalm 57:8 Awake up, my glory; awake, psaltery and harp: I myself will awake early. |

SEEING MUSIC
Harps call the sun up, even meadows turn blue. Strings play wonders on pond's golden hue.... Where ripples themselves are carrying tune. Haunting and graceful as a loon they swoon. Gowns tremble with harmonics, heads reverently bow, Breath is thick - visible somehow. Light illumines brow with deep tune's tingle Dark and light part - yet intermingle. I hear the echoing melody's chant The harpists and listener and all nature enchant. We participate with every pluck and song In the forest of music we too belong. So sound is not merely of ear It can actually appear. |

Biography
Harpist Mona Terry has always been motivated by the restorative power of music to transform the listener. After moving to the Midwest she founded String Song Music focusing on performance as well as teaching and other educational opportunities. She was awarded the Quad City Arts Grant in 1999 for her project "Harp Strings Music for the Soul" and continues her passion with Heart Song Ministry where she leads spiritual retreats using her harp as an instrument for meditation and healing. As a recording artist Mona has produced two CDs. The first, entitled "A Path Seeking Harmony" features her own original compositions and unique instrumentation with the harp. Her latest CD, “Peace, Joy and Wonder…Christmas” highlights her personal expression of Advent and Christmas utilizing a diverse array of sounds and effects on the harp to compliment familiar melodies. As a composer and arranger Mona Terry offers a broad inventory of compositions for solo harp, harp ensemble, and mixed instrumentation as well as choral works. Mona continues to further the cause for healing through music by playing her harp for regional hospice care, conducting workshops, and meditation and prayer services. Mona also takes great pride in the development and growth of the Quad City area harp ensemble, “Harpers Delight,” that started from an original song of the same title. It was Mona’s dream to offer opportunities for her harp students to network and play music together, so as not to feel isolated during the tedious learning process. The group invites harpers of all learning abilities and experiences, as the musical score is uniquely adapted to skills ranging from beginner to advanced levels. In this way, each participant contributes to the glorious sound experienced by harps playing in harmony. |
